Hi All,

I have a client who whilst on holiday has her nails done at a budget salon.

I cannot be totally sure but I’m convinced her nails have been damaged by MMA.

She suffered an infection and revived a course of antibiotics from her GP and now she is recovering she is wondering what she can do to repair the damage.

Nothing really, you can't repair the damage, you have to wait for it to grow out. Not sure why she's been given antibiotics, if it was a bacterial infection as soon asvthe products were removed and the nails exposed to air the bacteria died. If she has a fungal infection antibiotics won't clear it.

I would do nothing more than manicures for the next month or so until you know what longer term damage has been done. Normal polish will hid any green/discolouration and allow easy visibility at service time to see whats happening.

Lots of good quality cuticle oil to encourage growth

Hi thanks for the reply,

She had a bacterial infection and pus build up at cuticle area.

I will tell her it’s a real shame that I have been doing her nails constantly for 5 years and her nails were in such good condition and then cowboys have abliterated her nails in one visit.

It really should be illegal to use MMA there is absolutely no need for it

Can you post a pic please so we can see the condition of her nails
