I have been mobile now for about 15 years!! I know!. But since getting my website I have clients from further a field.
I have a lady who wants 3 sets of lash tints and perms as well as manicures pedicures and spray tans
She lives about 40mins away so it would be worth it to me to go obviously and charge travel but what should i do about the patch test!! help:twisted:

I would ask her if she has used tanning products before, if she has I would be happy not to do a patch test. I would be inclined to do the same with eyelash tinting, if its something she has done regularly then she should be fine. (i dont do perming so cant really comment).

If shes not had any of it done before then you will need to do the patch tests, but you could ask her if shes in your area at all if she could pop into you to have it done...

I would ALWAYS patch test for a tint and perm, you can't afford to cut corners when somebody's sight is in your hands. The spray tan i would be less concerned about unless they have particularly sensitive skin x

I'm sure you are upset about losing the job, however i think you knew in your heart that the patch tests were necessary (hence the post).

Someone with your experience should have known and factored that into your quote for the client.

Personally i probably would have gone and carried out the patch tests for free, or posted some cotton buds with the products on and instructions for them to do their own patch tests.

Oh well, we live and learn, there'll be other jobs xxx

I agree, I would have done the patch testing without charging, especially when she wants so many treatments done!

I have to go to patch test a new client that lives around 15 mins drive from me, that's half an hour round trip. I am not charging her for this. I don't normally do patch tests but this lady is particularly sensitive so it has to be done to be on the safe side. I will just nip in when I am in the area as she is booked in a couple of weeks ahead, it's more of a problem if they dont give any notice!
