Hi everyone,
Do any of you mobile techs work out of a van or a travel trailer?
I was thinking about buying a big delivery truck or a older travel trailer(camper) and gutting it and making it a salon inside. A salon that comes to you. I think it would be neat to park outside a big business on a certain day every week and people could come out on their lunch break and get nail service done.

They have trailers called work and play. They are used to transport a motorcycle but part of it is like a camper and that would work great, but they are very expensive. My husband suggest that i just buy a used camper and park it in my yard.
Ideas are welcome.
Thanks Lisa

I think that it is a brilliant idea, go for it.

Wow, the possibilities are endless, fantastic, what would you call it? Nails on Wheels? :)

Thanks for responding. I am not sure what I would call it. I am not sure if I would travel with it or leave it parked in my yard.
Where are you from? Do you do nails in a salon or are you mobile?
I also have a cute little den that I could use. It has its own enterance. I would want to leave it set up as a den though because we watch T.V in there all the time, it is a very cozy room. I am just not sure how I would incorporate all my nail stuff in there or if I would just leave it all packed away in a closet and pull it out when I need it.
I guess I have lots of options to think about. But I do know I don't want to give up doing nails completly and I don't want to give up my full-time job, the pay and benefits are to good. I gave it up before to do nails full-time and where I live there is just no money in it to make a good living. As far as a little side job at night and during the summer it is a good deal for some extra cash plus the benefits of owning your own business tax wise. I work in a high school so I don't think I would have any problems getting customers. I look forward to hearing all about you and your venture with nails.
Lisa
