monday blues

today i have had 2 clients turn up late and 2 not turn up at all, this always seems to be a monday!!! is this just me or anyone else have this problem!

Hm...what did you do about the ones not turning up? Did you call them?

Do you phone to confirm appointments before hand as this may help.

So far so good for me today....Its Saturday appointments not turning up which winds me right up!!!

I am now tending to text clients the same standard text reminding them of their appt beforehand. I always ask when taking mobile numbers if they are okay with me doing that. Also, we stopped opening on Mondays a few years back, as we were always quiet. It seems to be a rule around my area, don't know if its similar elsewhere, but hair/beauty places tend to be shut monday in place of opening a long Saturday? So we don't open at all on a Monday. Hth x x

called them and what a surprise there phone goes to voicemail. don't tend to have this problem on saturdays thank god!! mondays is quite busy for me its so annoying not knowing whether they are running late or not coming at all!!! at least i got to have lunch! lol

I've used the method often seen at Doctor's where you have a sign that says how many late cancellations or no shows you had last month, and the amount it cost you! I then put a reminder on about the cancellation policy It just sits in people's minds a bit more and makes them realise the impact. I'm sure people think it won't matter if it's just them. They don't seem to realise how much it can build up if lots of people let you down last minute. Anyway, worth a shot to see if it helps

Thats a really good idea. Especially about the amount of money it costs you. We had a girl not turn up for nails, then called in afternoon to book eyebrows, when she came in she said she forgot, can i book for next week? and did the same blooming thing the next week. Had a full body massage not turn up also on saturday (but in hindsight i think that may have been someone playing funny b*ggers with us as it was a wrong number)

we get it more with beauty than with hair. I think its because when your roots need done, they need done, whereas a massage aint as "essential"
