When a client books a couple of treatment do you offer discounts and if so what?

I'm working mobile and if a client books for nails, toes - gel and tan do you just charge the price list or offer a discount. If you do offer a discount do you offer this every time, if they come back and book more than one treatment. Or just as an introductory offer for the 1st time.

Have based my prices as an average in the area so what do you think?

i don't offer discounts because people expect it every time! but i do offer a loyalty card scheme, where for each full paid treatment they get a stamp & after 10 treatments i give them a little goodie bag, most people are happy with this x

It's a tough one..

I would normally say no discounts, but when a client book multiple treatments (different treatments not just a polish with the manicure or likewise) then most likely you would use less time, and for you being mobile then you would save a lot more time. With that in mind you could offer a discount, then it's up to you to figure out if you earn the same as if you had to go to different clients (time unpacking and packing and driving)

The only time I give discounts is when I need models for something, otherwise I don't. I cannot cut off my time and thats what they are paying for time, talent and experience/education.

As a mobile Nail Tech I do discount slightly if the same client wants more than 1 service, so if I do nails and toes I take £5 off the total. My reason is that I only have 1 set up and pack away as well as 1 travel, so my costs and time are less than doing 2 services on 2 separate people.

Hth's

Tks a mill for your responses.

I think i'll post my price list and stick to it. Like the loyality idea and reckon regular clients might appreciate that.

Think this site is wonderful, can't believe i;ve found it, its so informative and the info is realy direct and to the point.

tks again:hug:

I never discount. I stick to my prices published in my price list. We run gift with purchase occaisionally. Dont talk yourself out of income.

I won't tks again

Hi

I alway give a 10% off voucher for multiple bookings. I also give 10% off to the local riding club members as I advertise on their website. I also offer a discount to people who have a business card so if they are given one by me or an existing client it gives them an incentive to come to me.

I havent had anyone yet who has tried to use their card more than once.

I think its a great idea and helps get people to have more treatments and 10% s worth giving up for more bookings.

I don't do multiple treatment discounts but I do give a discreet discount, occasionly, to regular and loyal clients.

If you are just starting out and feel in order to draw in new business, then offering discounts might be helpful, but then people get used to it and it makes it difficult to get them to pay full price. If you are established then why would you want to discount? Not too many trained professions offer discounts, why should we?? What we do is a business. Does the grocery story or gas station offer you a discount for coming in often or buying more than one product??? NOPE!!

Good point, we'd do well if they did offer discounts at the supermarket - i'm never out of there!
:)

Hi,
tbh, i dont usually do discounts as if a client has booked to have nails and toes done in the first place, then they are wiling to pay my price they have seen advertised.
If they were not happy paying the combined price then they probably would not have booked me in the first place.

Im mobile too.

However, if a client wanted multiple treatments and asked if I did a discount and I felt that by the way the conversation was going that they would not book me unless there was a discount involoved then I would knock say £5 off or 10% or some such, as I could justify that as Vetty said there is only 1 set up and 1 travel involved.

Hope that helps
x

Hi, i would not discount mulitple treatments as people expect it all the time!

However it is nice to give something back to real loyal clients everynow and again. I sometimes offer a free headmassage if they have had lots of treatments. Just a quick 15 min head massage, i find it makes the client feel thay have had something extra. When really its only my time and i tiny bit of oil! x
