Hi All . I am a newbee. this is my 1st attempt @ Gel an i know its not how it should look just yet thats where im hoping u guys may be able to pass on some of your wonderful tips :o!!!!!

LeChat over Tip

My own critique would say.

too thick and looks a little wonky - how can i improve on this please ??

Thanks Pippa

Had lots of views but no comments ---- hum , guess it must be bad !!

too wide at the tip. that might be more to do with your tip application than your gel application though.
what tip did you use?

colour looks smoooth and even though.

thats probably because its not a very clear photo though, its awful hard to give an accurate critique if you cant really see the nail perfectly. so more a reflection on your camera than your nails so dont worry.

I would have to agree the nails fan out at the ends. You need to file down the nail in a straight line as if it was your own natural nail growing out straight, if you know what I mean. Also I think that the gel is a little too thick. Once you have the tips the correct shape your nails will look so much better.

i did apply the tip in line with my own and i filed the side walls before i stuck down and after... what am i doing wrong grrr

i knew straight away that it was too thick - think i got a little over excited !!! i have to say tho what a lovely product...

think i need a dummys guide haha !!! ah well if at 1st you dont succeed ........ !!

when you have fitted the tip, taper it in ever so slightly so that when it widens up a little after product application it is not flaring.

i would say if its not the tip at fault, what you have done is stroked the gel down too much and ended up with it pooling on zone 1.
so use a little lighter touch with it and perhaps a bit less on the brush.
this is particularly true when you use the polish stle bottles, try not to stroke it all down to the tip.

ooooh its so frustrating, i could get you doing it perfectly in minutes if only you were here for me to show you. you will soon have it all under control, it is an easy product to use.

just saw this and not sure if too late and whether uve mastered it yet but i also use lechat, and had my fair share of probs. Did use product too thick at the start and also took some time to get shapes right. Do u file after applying and removing sticky residue of base gel before applying top gel? On my 1st few times i forgot to file and mine was really thick. Also I have started to use a lot less product now too - i started by using a lot, but mine were so thick. After some time i am now able to produce a lovely looking nail / thickness of gel too.
