So I wanted proof that if I put down a soak off down then applied a hard gel in the center and a soak off top coat would it really soak off.... imagine the possibilities...

makes sense to me. The Soak-off is in contact with the nail plate while the 'buff-off' doesn't touch the nail plate.
So, I figure, as long as the acetone can get to the 'soak-off' and break the adhesion, you're good to go.
