Hey All

This is my first critique - Im currently training with NSI and have to do 3 overlay sets before monday

This is my 3rd set - I added a little nail art as the client had a night out and wanted something fancy :)

Ive used White tips with NSI totally clear overlay.

There are also 2 more pics of the nails in my PA with different angles :)

Please be honest as i need to know what i can do for that perfect set of nails :)

Thanks

i think your main mistake is the fact that the white tips take up too much of the nail. try to keep the ratio so that the white is no more than half the length of the pink for the most elegant look. secondly the nails appear rather wide. maybe the tips were a tad to wide for the nail or maybe you needed a few more strokes with the file to slim them after you applied the acrylic.its probably a combination of factors combined with the clients natural nail shape. the apex is placed a bit too near the tip on some of the nails.

on the upside it appears that the product is flush with the natural nail around the base and side walls and that you have finished them nice and smoothly. so once you address the other issues you should be turning out great nails.

well done for posting and i hope i have helped a little.

Hope my comments help you.

Firstly your smiles are irregular in that some are more curved and others less curverd. I agree that you have too much white for the length of the nail and the smile line sits too far down the nail. I don't know if NSI do custom blending, but this would enable you to move your smile line more towards the free edge giving the illusion of a longer nail bed. Curved smiles help with this too.

The side walls could be more tapered as they are a bit wide at the free edge. It is difficult to see well in the pictures, but it looks like the apex on some nails is quite bulbous.

Well done for posting and asking for critique. Hope you enjoy the rest of your training.

Well I think you are doing very well for being in training love
The tips are too far down the nail, not enough nail bed on show :) they need tapered in a bit to as they seem to be fanning out slightly at the tips, apex is a wee bit high, and on some nails a bit close to the tips. But overall I think you have done a really good job. hth xx

thank you so much

I do agree with you all about the tips being too high up and im still getting used to placing my apex, the one thing that my tutor had said to me was to remember to file the nails at the end so that they didnt fan out, i'll have to do that in future

Thank you all :)
