Well, this one is my second ever, but you get the point.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Pink Pink Pink....is this the finished nail, or have you some more to do to it?

I agree, you have a lovely smile line, a bit more work on the side walls and buff and shine. A really good job especially as its only your second try, I wish mine had been that good!

That was just when I had the opportunity to take the pic as we had to swap over. Lol, I did use a light file over it, then cuticle oil and is it wet buffer.

TBH, if it was my second ever nail, I'd be chuffed to bits!

You created a good smileline. Your side walls just need slightly tidying. The free edge just needs a quick swipe over with the file.
Don't for get to oil your finished nail, it takes away all the whiteness from buffing.

Keep it up, you'll do great.

Well done.

I've seen much worse.

There is way too much product at the stress area. When you look from the side, the curve should be gentle and pretty ... not like a hump back bridge but gradual and natural.

What concerns me the most about this photo it the appalling condition of the natural nail in the photo. filed and filed and filed some more until it is red and thin and sore looking ... pretty well destroyed in fact.

When doing your own nails again and again ... do not keep prepping them with a file ... even a soft one. file prep is to ex-foliate the plate ... when you come to do them again, they have already been done and don't need further filing ... Just dehydrate and clean the surface well and away you go again.

You will soon have onycholysis on your nails if you keep thinning them out like the one in the photo.

I dont fully understand this question but i will take a guess....
oil has to be removed with nail plate cleanser before using a buffer on the enhancement

Well hun, if I were you, give it a bit more with a white block , then use your 3 way/wet look buffer, & oil.

My first nails looked like bricks! Your looks really good for a second nail.

She did have really thin nail plate so I didnt do much. She said it would hurt if I did anyway because she had been practising herself at home. I agree about the stress area - you should have seen it before the picture! I wasnt happy with the nail in itself. I was stressing out over it but tutor told me I should be happy with it. I comprimised and said I was 'satisfied' with my smile line.

Thanks

My tutor has taught us to apply a small amount of oil, wipe it off with tissue / pad and then buff (???)
