What are you trying to achieve? Ie do you want it covering whole nail or just the tip? Is it part of a picture/design? X
I suppose it pretty much depends upon what you wish to do with the glitter.
Perhaps the best starting point is to take a look through the Nail Art Tutorials we have on this site, which I am sure will contain one or two on glitters.
