Hi all, I've searched previous posts and not really found my answer...

I love doing nail art and have recently started doing OPI axxium soak-off coloured gels, but am unsure what to do in terms of nail art with them. I haven't used any other coloured gel system but have had bio sculpture on my own nails and think it feels completely different.

Does anyone use this or similar and if so how do you go about nail art (I'm talking about handpainted acrylic paint designs, not gel designs). I'm thinking either I paint the design before the gel topcoat...in which case the base colour still has a sticky layer, or I finish and cleanse the nails and then paint design and seal with regular topcoat?

Your help and ideas please! Thanks! x

I tried this recently. I did all the steps and cleansed the last layer, painted the design and top coated. It lasted only a few days, it all peeled off. I felt really terrible and had to give the lady her money back for the art. I'm not sure what would work, but heads up, that doesn't!

I dont use the system that your using but What about taking it old school, finish the nails as you would and then do the art then use a normal but good quallity top coat?
retail it to the client and advise they apply another layer of the top coat every 2-3 days,

Hi you can creat lovely art just with the gel. have a look at my gallery and at this link Nail Art | izabellehammon.com
I hope this helps.

Have a play around on tips to see what effects you get.
wet the tip with a thin layer of clear first (dont cure) and then add colour designs.
