do you think kays klaws is a good nail business name or does it sound tacky? x

I worked at a beauty marketing agency for a lot of years, I still do but balance make up alongside that. I don’t think it’s a bad business name; after all it’s your business so it has to be a name that reflects you and your business brand image. It does suggest you specialise in nails which I’m guessing is accurate but if you went with something like Kay’s it means you could expand into other areas later on because you haven’t limited your business name to just nails. I mean you may not be looking to extend to things like lashes, hair etc in which case Kay’s Klaws says it’s nails. Would you look at something like Cuticles at Kay’s? Have you got products or signature elements of your service which make you unique too that you can build into a name? One of my clients a while ago offered cocktails with their nail services, they were in the city so it fitted perfectly with their clientele and they built that into their name which was great and set them apart from competition. Is there a really popular colour with your clients you could use too as that would be a signature to your clientele. Could you give 5 of your clients a mink questionnaire about your services ie what they love, what they would like to see etc to give you ideas about how your clients feel when they come to you, then use that as a feel for a name. Along with that ask a few what Kays Klaws says to them and what that brand image suggests via the name. Look up your competition too, what style of name do they have? Yes you want to stand out which is why a signature service could be a great name fit too. Overall Kay’s Klaws isn’t a bad name, it says what it does which is nails. It feels young and urban but would you attract an older feel of client? Do you also feel that you would like to expand into other areas eventually too? If so your name now may prevent that but if you want to continue to grow within nails then it’s a good fit. I know I’ve given a lot here and hopefully it’s helped. Ultimately it’s your business so go with what reflects your personality and style. Really hope this helps x

thank you for your reply, I'm only just starting out so don't have a client base yet, I'm still doing my course but I know someone who can make me a logo so was just thinking ahead xx
