Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that for a professional nail event advert, in a professional beauty magazine, the nails on the 'Showcase your talents' ad in the March issue are terrible!!

I LOVE professional Beauty Magazine and am not insulting the magazine in the slightest because I really love having a subscription to it..

But on this particular ad for the Excel comps, I think that the nails look terrible.. (The polish looks shoddy, and the filing..)

It's on Page 109

Anyone else noticed this or.. ??!

i think i know the one you mean !
i often think that those who choose the images for such things do not have a professional eye. i have recently seen a product advertised by a pic that does it no favours too.

Ha ha, I know! I'm glad you have noticed too!

i dont think its the fault of the techs though, and in no way mean to criticize them. maybe those who are in charge of selecting the image should take some professional avice though.

Yes you are probably right.
I reckon the editors or whoever chooses the pics are obviously not nail techs and so this particular picture has probably been chosen because of the hand pose with it being an elegant looking pose, and they wouldn't of thought to look very closely at the condition of the actual nails..

(Obviously we do because we are part of the industry but that doesn't mean that everyone else will) :)

I haven't seen the ad that you are talking about..But !
I have seen adverts before that in MY opinion the nails do not give a good impression of the brand,

Only today I saw an advert in a professional mag, for enamel,
And first look I thought ooooo..
Closer look the enamel looked soooo streaky I then thought NOPE !
and flicked right past,

But I also hate it when you can tell that a advertisement has been "touched up"
I then think "what do they have to hide ??"

I think the thing about most technicians is we do have VERY picky eyes..
We have to have, we are working with such tiny details, and our "art" is carried out on such small canvas's, we are trained to pick up small detail..

You could put me in a Gorgeously newly decorated room....first thing I would spot, would be the ONLY tiny air bubble in the wallpaper lol,
Its just one of them annoying things
