My nail trainer taught me that when doing nail overlays, I do 1 'lock in' layer of gel, cure, and then either finish clear or glaze and go on top (I use NSI). But what if I think it could do with a bit of buffing or smoothing over? Is it ok to do the lock in layer, then another thin layer (of builder gel again), cure, buff to smooth and then apply glaze and go? So in effect doing 3 layers?
Also, what kind of fancy nail art can you do with nail overlays? Obviously if putting tips on you can use crushed shells and glitter etc etc as you can then file it all into shape. But with overlays there's not enough gel really to file after applying the fancy stuff - surely it would end up looking a bit bulky? I just want to be able to offer more with the overlays, than the usual french look or diamontes or hand painted designs.
Hope this makes sense, it's a bit waffly! Thanks geeks x
