I'm just starting out as a mobile therapsit and have comeplted my diploma am in the process of building up my portfolio for my NVQ2. To do this I will be practising on friends and family and wondered if anyone could recommend a reasonably priced nail polish range to purchase with stand. Also would you recommend charging a little bit even though I'll be practising just to cover the cost of products?

You do need to be charging to cover the cost of your products - if you dont put a value on your work then neither will your clients.

There are lots of varnish ranges - if you do a search on varnish, enamel, polish ther will be lots of threads come up.

I personally use the Creative range, available from Welcome - Sweet Squared and they have just launced a whole new range of cremes and effects. Lots of different colour combinations from not many bottles.

Absolutely you should be charging at least to cover the cost of your products. Make it clear from the outset that this is what you intend to do so there are no surprises. Start as you mean to go on and it will be easier for you. Good luck.
