hi all
I am having a bash my head against a wall moment!!!
I have recently done quite a few french manicures using gels (nsi) onto natural nails. I am sorting cuticles then buffing the nail plate then using pure plus then balance bond primer applying one thin coat of gel (nsi sheer pink) cure for 2 mins then i use body builder bright white as i like the cosistency better than the brush on french make my smile line cure for 2 mins then i do the final coat using sheer pink let the gel level check its not touching any skin or cuticle cure for 2 mins then wipe with cleanse and filing with a 180 brush off dust use cleanse then apply glaze & go cure for 2 mins and done.
Firstly this is how i was taught this and dont generally have any problems when i use tips but some customers well 3 have said the gel has just cracked i have not seen them to see what they mean but one customer said she did it opening a packet of crisps?? i did use the nsi soak off gel with her as she was terrified of her nails being ruined by having anything other than polish put on so she said she would prefer it so she could just soak it off.

Can anyone out there help???? am i doing something wrong??? do you have any tips or suggestions that might help me???
would appreciate any feedback

thanks kelly

Hi, I just started using gel in the last few months and had great success with no lifting but on me and a couple of other ladies NNO got horizontal cracking across the stress line. With me it seems to be my index fingers that need a bit extra on the stress area, the other lady is just very heavy handed and traps her hands in car doors etc all the time. The other lady I just didnt build enough apex as she had naturally beautifully curved nails and thought she didnt need it, since been back to repair and build it up a bit and 2 wks later she's just texted to say still looking fantastic, phew! Sounds to me like you need more product on the stress area. Which pink gel are you using, the builder gel or the new body builder gel by the way? Ive just ordered some more as they seem to be lot better for building once you get used to the consistency, I found the normal builder very runny especially on one client who has really hot hands! x

Could also be the white is not fully cured and the top seal is cracking over the top of it. The more opaque the gel, the thinner it needs to go on to cure properly in the suggested amount of time.

thanks for your replies
The cracks i have not seen for myself so i dont know where they are exactly if they are on the stress line or on the nail in general as the customers are not specific they just say cracked and when i ask for more info they dont give me any

I am using builder sheer pink which i have always used an not had any problems with previously and it is only over natural nails this is happening.
I am using the bright white gel and curing for 2 mins it seems cured and there is no white residue when i put the pink over it.

I just dont know anymore:sad: i dont understand why its just on natural nails as i have no problem on my own
