Can any one suggest a product or "home" remedy

Some of my clients are hair dressers... some just grubs..
They are always picking at their free edge nautral nail becuase it is stained.. is there anything i can do to clean under there?..

Some of them ask me to clean it with the e file but it totally changes the shape of the nail.. and the strength i would think?..

Tell them to wear gloves if they are colouring hair!!! They should do anyway.

For ordinary stains there is a great professional product called 'Nail Brite'. It is sold with a cool nail brush and has a lemony scent and a consistency simiar to Jiff (bathroom cream cleanser) slightly abrasive. It is a good retail sale to clients who are keen gardeners or who regularly squeeze their tea bags and stain their nails.

I will have a look thru my drill bits and see if i have a similar one.. is it cone shaped?

Also Geeg. who makes the nail bright and where can i get some if you wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks

hey!!! Yes this is a big problem with fake tan users and people that apply foundation with their fingers. Nail bright is sold by creative im going to buy some!!!

Before i did my nail course and had my gel nails done frequently; the tech said to use jiff and an old toothbrush. someone else said an electric toothbrush really worked. Also heard whitening toothpaste does the job. A natural whitener is lemon juice, though i dont know how/if that would effect enhancements?. As far as hairstylists getting tint on their own hands; i was a stylist for 8 years with long natural nails that were always painted. It just became habit right from the start to always wear gloves, and erased the problem of stained nails. When i did my nail course, I was shown the product Gigi mentioned and it seems an ideal solution for stained nails, and as she said a great retail product!

Thank you all so much.. I had heard of baking soda and lemon juice... but everytime i buy a lemon my husband cuts it up and puts it into his beer!!!! Lol..

Plus I can on sell the Nail Bright...yeah...
God I am so lucky to have all you geeks.

Baking soda makes sense as its the main ingredient that gets put into alot of 'natural' toothpastes. Pure pre bottled lemon juice from supermarkets is just as good if you want to keep nail cleaning natural, and not so tempting for your hubby,s beer!

What kind of professional would tell a client to use a 'home remedy'?

Toothpaste??? Jiff bathroom cleaner???

It's like telling your clients to soak off their own nail enhancements using industrial acetone. What next?

SELL your client the things they need for home care from your salon. The products that work. Don't send them up the high street to buy something they clean their toilet with.

Oh Geeg, you make me laugh.. but you are right...

I am having great trouble thinking " busines".. I am a push over and people know it too....
I need to get tough and start thinking like a woman on a mission

I absolutely agree with you Gigi, i was only mentioning what 'i' was recommended, (cringe at the thought), and what i heard other ladies use, as the original post asked for a 'home remedy'. As i said in my previous post Nail Bright is the perfect solution, and a great retail product!

nail brite works a treat! i first had it from geeg 8 years ago, and have never used anything else!
