hello everyone
I hopefully will be receiving my NVQ as a Nail technician in July and would like a job (Of Course) I recently rang an advert in my local paper for a job as a Nail tech and they said they would ring me back which they did not..Is everone in this field of work rude to you or can I truely find employment as a Nail Tech. please answer my question ...

thank you

Most people in this field of work are very nice, everyone on here is nice,
maybe the salon owner is very busy or maybe she simply lost your number, it is easy to do this if you are busy at the time of taking the enquiry,
why don't you give them another ring and see how you stand,
other than that you need to get your self out there and advertise that you are available for work

I think its just because your from the north east!! hehe...

I work mobile, but still look about for jobs as a nail tech in a salon. Dont think i would ever work in a salon but i still look, i never seam to find any!!! Most Salons only want qualified tech's so you might struggle to find a job straight away.

Have you not thought of doing it mobile??

xx

ring back!
as no end of times we have people who leave their number, then some numpty loses it!!!
ring back just to see if they still have your number on file at least
good luck xx

I'm sure you'll find that there are salons out there who are willing to take on a trainee nail tech. After all, we have to start somewhere.
To be honest I wouldn't start a nail career as mobile with out getting some sort of salon experience.

It'll teach you alot, not only about your skills as a nail tech but also things like client consultations, timing, dealing with the public, promoting yourself, and the list goes on.

For me salon work really wasn't my bag, but I did it all the same, I never regretted it, because with out that experience, I believe I wouldn't have succeeded in being mobile.

I say just keep trying, gain experience and get the practice in. It's vital! :wink2:

Good luck.
