Hi all,
I'm a long time salon geek lurker, but decided to take the plunge today to join and seek advice as well as hopefully part some of my (somewhat scarce) 'wisdom', or at least my experiences.
Having just been made redundant from a high profile job in the city, I've decided to go back to my beauty roots and add laser technician to my qualifications. I am going to be training on the Ellipse system as I have had many treatments with this particular brand (hair removal and acne treatment, all at the same clinic) and found the results to be incredible, so I believe in the product and know it works.
My question is this though, if I wanted to open my own IPL hair removal clinic (which will be my end goal if all goes well) - is there any real potential there for a decent client base/income to only use IPL treatments (Skin Rejuvination, Acne treatment, thread vein removal and of course, hair removal)? I dont think I would want to open a 'Beauty Salon', but have it more specific and specialised in IPL.... When I come round to my business plan I'll conduct as much Market Research as I can, but I dont really know where to start with that side of things?
...What do you think? Is IPL a lucrative enough element to stand alone in the beauty industry? Or should it only be present in salons which offer a whole different range of treatments? xxx :irked:
