Hi

My goodness - sorry this is so long!!!

I really hope you can help...

I did the hollywood toes course with NSI in mid April this year and was really happy. I left feeling really confident, I thought the set I did was great!

I really wanted to buy a lamp (as I got my kit on the day of the course) so that I could set myself off after getting insurance once my daughter started nursery.

It is now the end of August and I still havent been able to buy a lamp (they are expensive).
However, my lovely mum asked her colleague from work if I could borrow her lamp (my mum works in retail she isnt a nail tech) and she's just dropped it off for me!!

The only thing is I was disappointed to see it is a Rio lamp (Argh! Please dont shoot me!). Can someone please tell me if it will cure my toes - I only want to have a go on myself to re-cap.
It is 230V 11w.

Also... I hope you forgive me in asking, could someone run through the gel application with me please?
My stupid stupid fella has put my notes ''some where'' and I just cant find them.

Is it:
sanitize, push back cuticles, remove surface shine/etch nail plate
apply nail pure
apply one coat of balance bond primer
apply a very thin coat (like nail polish) of builder clear or builder blush
cure - is it 120secs
apply brush on french white
(can cure for 10secs while doing other nails)
or cure all for 120secs?
wipe with cleanse
apply finish clear or glaze & go
cure for 90secs
wipe with cleanse if used finish clear

Please be kind, that is from memory, and I dont use it very often as im a full time mum my brain cells have evaporated!! As the lamp is only an 11w do I still cure for the same amount of time??

Really hope someone can reply as Ive been got everything set out here so I can do my own!!

Thank you Thank you

Hi - just did this course on Tuesday, your routine is spot on.
We were told that as long as your lamp was 9watt or above you will be ok, and the times will be the same.
The only time you need a higher wattage lamp is if you were using any of the NSI sculpture gels.
I have done a couple of sets already and have been really please with them.
However one thing I have noticed is that on the course we used the x-treme white gel, but in the kit it is the brush on french white, and I personally think this is a lot thinner and doesn't give the same coverage.

Have fun doing your toes!

Thank you!

Just started doing them now - so fingers crossed!

Hope they're going well.

Hi
I have just done my daughters toes and am going to do my sisters at 11.00 this morning. Everything looks fine except when I did mine I was told to remove the shine after removing dispersion layers before applying glaze n go. Don't know if this makes a difference or not to be honest but I gather it needs something to bond to (either tacky or buffed surface).

I use the brush on white but I had a problem with it bleeding up the nail plate so I have started to remove the tacky layer and give the lock in layer a light buff, then apply the brush on white, much better now. Also, it is a little thin but I just kind of dab it onto the free edge and clean up the smile line after and by the time I have finished it has levelled off evenly.

Hope your toes look fab :):)
