Hello all,
I am starting a beauty therapy nvq1 course at college in february. Has any one any tips/ advice etc????
Im very new to all of this and very nervous.lol.
Thankyou everyone

I remember feeling like u.I did level 1 too im now on level 3.
The advice i would give you is to get all your work in on time and revise for your tests and treatments. Level 1 is pretty basic but if you carry on to level 2 then you will be really glad you did level 1 because a lot of stuff from level 1 is covered in level 2, in the theory side anyway.
You will be fine on your first day once you get there! Dont worry hun and good luck xxx

Hi Kylie b, Thankyou for your reply, thats very nice to hear someone else felt the same way lol. I have a beauty couch so can definatly revise for my tests. Do you think i would need a beauty kit?? my tutor says i wont but if i want to practice at home surely i will. Please let me know.
Thanks hun xx

To be honest the treatments are quite basic in level 1 so you wont need to buy a kit as you should pick it up very quickly. I would see how you get on first and if you feel you need to practice then go and get some stuff from capital. If you are doing make -up with your course then it may be worth investing in some decent make up brushes as the ones the college give you are a bit rubbish.

You will do assessments on your couch and tests are written hun. It will all become much clearer once you start. It frustrating when you dont know what to expect!
When do you start? xxx

And i cant reply to the post you sent me about spray tanning as it wont give me the option to reply to you for some strange reason.
I do spray tanning and have tried various tanning solutions.
I am using Sienna-x as i am totally in love with the stuff!! I have found they are the best company for providing you with all the tools you need, such as posters, t-shirts ,badges, and lots of retail products to buy and the customer service is absolutely FANTASTIC. If you would like some more details then pm me you address along with your email address and i will get Fiona from Sienna to send you out some info. xxx

Heya kylie, thank you for your advice on the beauty kit. I should be going capital this weekend to have a look around. I wont be doing make-up yet as this college doesn't offer this which is a shame but I would absolutely love to do this in the near future. I love permanent make-up and im getting my eyebrows done tomorrow again.
As to the tanning side of things, I have actually got a pack from fiona at sienna-x but haven't had much time to catch up with the women in my area called Victoria (must do that soon). I have never heard from any one that has actually tried it though in my area. My mum owns her own salon and will teach me how to tan so I am ok with the training. Im just confused with what machine to buy and where from etc. What machine have you got and are you mobile? xxxxx
