Hey there ladies, I've been practicing with this product and i really have gotten the hang of it and am enjoying it. Have any of you used it with your clients? What have been the results? How about refills? Thanks for your input!

Hi idonails,
where did you get odorless system from if I could get hold of some it would be a real relief because at the moment both my client and myself are using the mouth guard lool we look like idiot but the job gets done :irked:

You need to be careful using odourless systems as they are higher on the sensitivity ladder than traditional l+p systems...... There is a higher risk of touching uncured product which increases you over-exposure risk.

Hi fellow VP-users!

Try Vicki's site - the shipping is really reasonable, and the products are fantastic. Vicki Peters Nail Products : Welcome to Vicki Peters Nail Products

Due to some bizarre problem with shipping, she can't ship products to Scotland (DHL California has some funny rules...) but Milton Keynes should be fine!

We don't have a lot of VP users in the UK as there is no formal distribution set up yet, but I have been considering becoming a distributor because the products are so fantastic. Great colour and clarity, good prices, and SIMPLE to use. I primarily use the Regular but will be getting some Odourless with my next shipment.

Idolnails - refills... do you mean infills? Forgive me if I'm not clear. I use Pink Glass powder for my full sets, but for my infills, I use a touch of VP Pink Custom (very opaque) to cover the file line, and Pink Glass over it, and I get a very clean result. I love how the pink glass looks over white tips - it just takes that florescent white look off the tips so they don't look so notably fake. Most people think my nails are my own because they don't have that blinding white look. (if you like the blinding white look, just use the Clear Glass)

Hope this helps

can you explain this bit for me? thanks

Usually with odourless l+p there is an uncured layer of monomer left once ithe product has set that needs to be removed and most tech's roll this layer off with their fingers...... This is uncured product which as we all know should never come into contact with skin or soft tissue - this is what puts the tech at risk of overexposure and allergic reactions.

Does that help?

yes great thanks for that - is it in anyway like the sticky layer you have to remove after you complete gel nails?
ooo sorry more questions:eek:

Yep, same thing! Gel users need to be careful of the inhibition layer for the same reasons.....

Hi Seraphin, thanks for responding. Infill-Refill, tomatoes tomatos, :rolleyes:hahahaha! Thanks for the "tip" on what to use also, that helps! :)

As for the sticky layer that's on it, the instructions say to remove it with either gel cleanser or with alcohol.

I really like the product!

I use OPI Clarite, another odorless system and have NEVER used my fingers to roll off the uncured product.

Big NO-NO.

I usually use a curing resin, applied like a polish that cures the top layer. Otherwise a gently file will roll the uncured (sticky) acrylic off smoothly.

Yikes! Don't ever use your fingers!

Are these like UV acrylic nails then? When I first started out i did a course in them, it was acrylic but cured in UV then you would take of the layer which was a bit rubbery?

I believe so, yes

No, it's not. It's like a regular acrylic system except that it doesn't smell and it has a sticky layer to it, you just rub it off with alcohol or a gel cleanser then you continue as you would normally with any other acrylic system. Hope this helps!
