I am doing my friends nails on Wednesday. Her nails never last very long and always lift really badly. I'm trying to ensure my prep is really thorough, but she said she's always had problems with enhancements lifting and coming off early, even when she used to have acrylics at a salon (I only do gel). My question is.... would it make a difference or help if I put primer on twice? I use the NSI Balance system.
Many thanks

i always find that people who say this have never actualy had a proper thorough prep.
if you are thorough in that you will almost guaranteed to beat the problem if you are using your products correctly.

The article Fiona has directed to you regarding primer & Barry Manilow posters says it all really!!

Susan has also probably hit the nail on the head - if you'll excuse the pun.

If your prep is thorough and you know you have removed all the non-living tissue from the nail plate - thoroughly. And you know your application is spot on - no touching the skin etc then your client will certainly notice a difference. That is great adhesion of the product o her nails.

However, there is always the problem of what the client does when not at the salon - make sure you do a thorough consultation, find out about her daily life ie - does she muck out stables & scrub floors etc without gloves or any care about her hands....you know what I mean. Sometimes, with all the best work a tech can do, some people will have lift because of what they do when not in sight of a tech!

I'm sure you'll do a great job and she'll be more than happy, so don't worry, just do your job right and you'll have no problems.

When she returns to you, then you can check her nails out and establish how well they have performed.
