Hi, I have a lady who is in her 70s, shes been having manicures with me for the past year. Just recently her nails have become very dry and britle, every time I go back they have split and broken. I have tried a few lotions and potions on her but they just dont seem to be imporving. Does anyone have the best product that I can get my hands on to try and get them back to a reasonable condition. The problems started about 10 weeks ago when she changed her medication for her arthritis.
Just dont want to waste money on stuff if its not going to help so just thought I would ask for your knowledge on good products out there!
Thanks
Manda

i use solar oil by creative.... its great for dry brittle nails.... but... with the change of meds it could take her body a while to adjust to em

Good old solar oil for me too, I would do an intense warm solar oil soak on her nails and sell her a bottle of solar oil to use daily perhaps along side the solar butter. Also make sure she tells her doctor about her nails it could be that her new meds are not the best for her and far to many elderly people don't tell the doc about the side affects they get, so never learn that they have other choices:irked:

yea i'd say suggest solar oil aswell and maybe do a warm oil manicure or paraffin wax manicure too to get some moisture into her nails :)

hi
like the geeks have said hun, solar oils great for dry nails and i love parafin wax treatment for dry hands to.hth.xxxxxx

this happened to my mum recently now although shes only 53 she has severe arthritis and has just changed meds, and her nails were awful, we have been using enough solar oil to keep CND afloat for a year pmsl, and also regular warm oil manicures , but also we were using toughen up base coat and clear top coat, after 5 weeks they are looking much better, she mentioned it to the dr, they said it was deffo the meds, as it was one of the side affects, that it can effect nails and hair condition, maybe she should mention it , as susie said, it might not be a known side effect for her meds and they might want to know hun
