Hi guys

What is best for reducing the appearence? I know you cant completely get rid!

Thanks

Astringents can help to temporally tighten them.
Regular steam and extraction will help with comodones xxx

By 'open pores', I assume you are referring to pores which are quite large in appearance? It would be difficult to say as I can't see your skin for myself, however, it sounds as if you may be referring to pseudo pores.

These are pores which no longer produce sebum. They have probably become enlarged over time due to the presence of black heads blocking them. Eventually they never quite recover their original size. You can't really do anything about these I'm afraid.

If you wear makeup, Clinique do a small range of products which minimize the size of enlarged pores. I have their 'Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector' in my Bridal Make-up kit. You apply it over the affected area and then apply your foundation over this. It helps to refine the skins texture so that the pores are not as noticeable.

As for blackheads? Do you use exfoliation as routine in your skin care regime? This helps to prevent the formation of blackheads.

Also, do you have an oily skin? Are you using the correct products for your skin type?

I use a deep purifying mud mask for my nose after I have been in the bath.

I do have oily skin but not as bad as when I was a teenager.

I exfoliate sometimes but find it does not make a massive difference.

I use the metal thing (cant remember its name - I am a hairdresser lol!) to push the blackheads out after steaming and they do come out, I just find my pores dont really close after, and then I get another blackhead to clear within a few weeks. They always seem to be enlarged. I only suffer with this on my nose...nowhere else on my face. Its almost like if you look close enough, you can see nearly every pore on my nose.

for fear of ruining my sarcastic reputation on this site.....

microdermabrasion and a product with salicilic acid would work a treat

i wpuld really need to see your skin to reconmend what to do it siunda as though you dona have a dialy ''ritual'' when it comes to your skin care range.
As far as exfoliators, maybe you noting using the right type for your skin and you extraction methid is wrong my advice come to my salon for a skin analysis and try some time at r skin bar where we look and your skin and educate you on how to look after your skin,
its hard to reconmend as i cant see your skin!

Glycolic products and peels can help too, but don't forget the sun block if using these as they are powerful exfoliators.
