I have tried searching for open university and Niao Products but cannot find anything on this site, so i was hoping someone can help. I trying to research information on these two to see if either are any good training or good products. Reason being is that a nail tech is hoping to taker over my spot in the salon i work at when i leave, and i promised the owner i would do a research for her has she knows nothing about nails and i have never heard of Niao Acrylic system, or know whether this is a good/respected qualification or not. Many Thanks.

1. i do not think the open university do nail courses.
2. naio have definately been discussed in the past so i'm surprised that nothing came up. without needing to search though i can definately remember that naio products did not get any possitive comments.

Thanks for your reply. I did another search and found i had been spelling it wrong, its naio not niao. :D Oh dear, not a very good product is it! I googled it and found the website .... very very cheap speaks for itself really.

I didnt think the open university did Nail tech courses either the only at home course I know of is essential nails.
Why would the salon owner be looking at employing someone with out proper qualifications, if this person who is looking at taking over from you has told the owner that she did this then I have a feeling she could be telling a porky pie to gain a job.
Surely the salon owner should be employing someone who uses the same system as you unless you are taking your client base with you when you leave.

not very possitive reviews are they?
perhaps she is not neccesarily bad at her job but not using a good product. though her training doesnt sound very kosher. a trade test would be the way to tell what her skills are like.

Apparently she gained a Level 2 Diploma with Open University. It was a home learn course but she had to go and be assesed in manicure, pedicure & nail disorders. TBH i think the salon owner would take on anyone just to get her rent.
She came in today to do a trade test, she was going to do one on me but then i refused has i decided i dont want anything to do with it. She wont be working on my client base has they are all coming with me so it makes no odds to me if they do decide to have her.
I'll leave them too it and good luck to em! :D
