hi a mum at school asked me today about organic gel.
i was honest and told her i didn't know anythink about it as i didnt do it in my training. But i said i could find out about it from fellow geeks.

She has always worn acrylic nail enhancments for years but a month ago she decided to stop having them done.
but whilst she was up town yesterday she saw that fenwicks (i think it was)was doing organic gel natural overlays.

she's concerdering having it done as her sister is getting engaged next month and she wants nice looking natural nails

do you think this would be a good system for her to try?

this is most likely going to be calgel or bio, sounds like their marketing !

Its all acrylic no matter how you 'fluff it up'

NOTHING will damage nails other than a bad nail technician.

If she specifically wants bio or calgel - sling her my way :green: !!!

There's a shop in another village/town up the road from me called E-Nails and they specialise in organic nail products! Always meant to check it out, out of curiosity!

thing is im sure i did in my training....EVERYTHING is organic apart from electricity and...something else which i cant rememeber:cry: !

So to lable/market something as ORGANIC is misleading really !

Yeah Geeg said something along those lines on another thread...

... I wonder why some people would try and promote the 'organic' nonsense instead of their nail technician skills.

no nail systems are made of completely natural ingredients, all products used in the production of nail enhancement systems ARE ORGANIC. The reason for the confusion is that ORGANIC does not mean that something is natural (as some folks would have you believe) ... Organic simply means that something contains CARBON. All nail systems contain carbon therefore all nail systems are organic in nature...

Hope this helps!

Doh! I took way too long to do that post lol

Because people think that 'organic' means safe, natural, and free of chemicals.

Of course 'organic' means none of those things.

Organic means that something contains CARBON.

All nail systems are organic and they all contain carbon and everything in the world is chemical apart from light and electricity !!

See how people play on these words in their marketing to lure you into their clutches??

The truth is pretty simple really.
