hi guys, i have just started my training with CND and have already done 3 days at sweet squared, now i have to return on thursday with my model and do infills. I feel like i cant even do prep properly and as for the application of tips and the acrylic i am absolutely usuless. I feel that yet again i have wasted my hard saved money and wont be able to achieve a good set of nails - ITS SOOOO HARD!! And as for the portfolio i feel i havent got anything worth putting down on paper - am i the only one feeling like this - please help.

I admire all those technicians that can do it, i certainly take my hat off to you, regards emma

And breath .................
Calm down honey try not to complicate it in your mind to much! Really try to take one thing at a time it doesn't come over night for anyone,
You will get it if you want it but don't stress your self so much, what is it that your having problems with? Is it rembering the order of things? Maybe write your self a list and stick it by the kettle then repeat it every time you go to make a drink,
Or bye some colored dot stickers and put them on your bottles/tools in rainbow order before you know it you will have memorized the order of things with out hardly thinking about it,

I thought I had written another post and forgotten about it lol! You sound just like me  I did day 4 a couple of weeks ago and go back for day five next Friday. I know it feels like you will never remember everything and there isn't enough time in the day to get it all done but as the above poster said just take a step back and breathe . Have you still got the nails you did way back on day two that you would have been asked to do at home? If you have can you compare them to ones you can do now ( my hubby told me to do this last week and I was gobsmacked at the difference) mine are still wayyyyy beyond perfect but up to those first ones I did....... Just take everything one step at a time and don't do everything at once. If I feel like I have no mojo one day I just apply tips to the trainer and go back to it the next day.

As for the portfolio it is the same thing write a list of all the things you want to put in it ( price list, aftercare advice etc) and take them one at a time. I found a free desktop publishing program on google that made it a lot easier.

But most importantly remember why you decided to do the course in the first place. You obviously have a passion for this and like me have to remember that yes it is going to be hard and it is going to take a heck a lot of hours and practice but it will be soooo worth it one day!

Good luck with day 4 and remember you can come here and ask all these wonderful geeks for help and advice ( I know I have and will keep doing for a long time!) :green::hug:

Please don't stress yourself! In my opinion it takes a solid year of working with l&p to be really proficient at it - plus we are all continually learning. Don't be so hard on yourself - it takes time to learn this skill. Skilled techs make it look so easy - but its not.

You can do it! It just takes practice and patience.

Aw thanks guys, i have since been out fopr coffee with my friend and have learned to breath again , i got my knickers in a right twist this morn when i was reading through everything i have to do before thursday.
Thank you mizzie-dizzie for the good advise, i shall label all my products and see if that helps, and write a list to puit next to the kettle as i am always boiling it, lol
Thank you orbie for your advise, i am always greatful for any wise words and you sound like you know what i am going through.
Thank you mely-bely for your words of wisdom, it sometimes take someone to just say STOP........... :smack: have a breather.

I shall now keep you all posted as to how i am getting on, i appreciate any information and advise you all have to offer,
many many thanks once again
emma x

Hi there,
I'm struggling too - I started my course last week!!! I'm doing my course in EZFlow gel-it, and am having a nightmare. For a start I hate the training hand - it's an old one that the training school lent me and the nails keep popping off which is a real pain when you're halfway through.
I'm struggling with the actual gel. I just can't seem to get the pink and white right. My pink is too thick, and my white too thin. The french-it isn't the same texture as the blush and if I leave the blush too thin over the tip then that's no good. I ALWAYS have one corner of the smile line higher than the other. They are so bumpy that after I've filed them all down to a smooth surface - I've filled a whole bloody file! I don't have a brush as it didn't come with the kit - and because I'm not qualified yet I can't go into the wholesalers to buy one.:irked:
My day 4 isn't until next Thursday so I've got a bit more time with the training hand yet. My model for day 3 isn't looking after her tips as well as she should do and keeps breaking them off. Still I've got a couple of unsuspecting friends to do this weekend - so that'll be better practice than the training hand.
So..... now you have read this I hope you're feeling better!!!!!

Any words of wisdom on the EZ Flow would be soooooo welcome right now!!!

The thing ive found with nails is .....

Practice lots & lots...then..one day it just clicks....

It doesnt happen overnight ...Im just over a year in, my nails arn't perfect but I am getting there, they are lasting well, clients are happy and im making a good living from it.

You will be fine...put the hours in & you will reap the rewards xxx
