Hi all
Looking for a bit of advice, I'm getting back into nails after a break away from them. I would like to give my clients a paraffin wax treatment and have just bought the Hive spray paraffin wax starter kit with heater but I'm not sure how to actually use the wax as we were never shown on our course.
Can anyone please tell me the procedure for applying the wax

Thanx

Hi,

You melt the wax in the heater so it is warm but not too hot, then I paint it all over the clients hands with a pastry brush, wrap in cling film then a warm towel and leave for about 10 mins, it hardens as it cools, then just peel it off when it has dried and the skin will be gorgeous and soft - its very easy.

hope this helps xxx

Thanx
Does the same apply to spray wax? Do I spray it more than once on the hands before I wrap them?

This is all soooo confusing!

You melt the wax (your machine should have a thermostat to control the temperature) and should also have a min/max marking to show how much wax to put in.

After massaging in a hand lotion I dip my clients hand 3 times to create a wax 'glove' to the wrist and then pop in to plastic bags and then in to mitts for 15-20 mins HTH:)

Oh sorry, just spotted you have spray wax - sorry I have no experience with that

Thanks for gettin back. I think the spray wax must be a new thing! I thought it was a good idea for quickness..........maybe should have bought a bath!

Anyone else used spray paraffin wax or have any other ideas?

I prefer the spray wax as it is a bit more hygeinic thandipping in a paraffin wax bath..especially if it isnt emptied and rfilled after each client..though i have a way around that too...moulding some kitchen foil inide a seperate bowl and then dipping it into the wax bath to fill it..paint the wax onto slightly oiled skin using a wax brush or similar...less chance of cross conatmination...and then placing the hands in a plastic bag and then into a towelling mitt...and after a while remive the mitt and use the bag to peel the wax off...

when using spray wax remember and check the temp on your own skin as it can get quite hot...massage a little oil or cream into Your clients hands as this makes removal a bit easier...the spray nozzles are usually adjustable.. place some bedroll or such under the hands...so the wax doesnt get everywhere...spray the wax over the clients hands and wrists...back and front...more than one coat though...the first coat will be the warmest...then place the clients hands inside plastic bag or similar...and then into towelling mitts.. leaving for ten minutes or so before removing...I do the same sort of treatment for the feet too..

this is a fabulous treatment for people who have aching joints or osteo arthritis as it warms the joints and makes them less painful...

I love the different fragrances available too...

this is just the way I would do it..and am sure others will have loads of other suggestions...
