Hi guys,

Just a quick question. When filling in my INDIVIDUAL tax return (not the businesses) in a partnership, I have my UTR but do I need my own government gateway ID number or do I use the partnerships one ?

I’ve just been on hold for half an hour to HMRC to get my UTR and I can’t face it again for this question [emoji85] any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks geeks!

I dont know but @salonfrog will know the answer...

Hi there you will need a separate gateway ID for personal tax return, the partnership ID will be for the business only, I hope this helps!

I think @emcmillan is right. We submit all our Clients’ returns using our accountancy practice log in, so never need to use theirs, so don’t know.

@Isabel.Blake - i know what you mean about waiting on the phone for HMRC. We call HMRC for our Clients so they don’t have to, so we spend a lot of time waiting too.
