Plastic couch cover in washing machine?

Has anyone ever put a plastic couch cover through the wash? I always wipe mine over with oil and surgical spirit, but was just wondering if I could throw it in the wash and tidy it up a bit? Or will it disintegrate?

I'm not too fussed if it doesn't survive as they aren't too expensive but don't want to kill my machine either lol.
