I WENT TO A NAIL SCHOOL. SO I LEARNED HOW TO DO 3D NAILS AND MANY OTHER DIFFERENT ONES. I DO MY SISTERS NAILS AND MY MOTHERS, AND FRIENDS BUT FOR SOME REASON THE NAILS DONT LAST THEY FALL OFF COMPLETELY THEY USUALLY LAST 1 DAY OR LESS. :Scared:

I DO ALL THE STEPS I WAS THOUGHT
SO WHY ARE DO THEY FALL

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

THIS IS THE STEPS I DO:down:
1. Push the cuticle
2. file the nail plate
3. glue the nail
4. blend nail tip with nail plate
5. primer
6. cut nail tip on desired length
7. primer and wait until it dries
9. then acrylic
10. and file, buff and smooth nail.

When you say push the cuticle - are you using any product on the nails to help to remove the non living tissue?

When you say "file the nail plate" - what grit of file are you using?

I use the Exfoliating Cuticle treatment and sometimes i cut the cuticle.

i use the medium 100/180 Grit

Hi, the most common reason for nails lifting and coming off is down to the prep. It sounds like you are using the right file to prep the nail plate, and removing the cuticle, so it sounds like maybe you are using too much bonder / primer. Also, are you allowing the bonder / primer enough time to dry?
I would suggest ensuring that you wipe the bonder / primer brush on the sides of the bottle neck so that you have a smaller amount of product on the brush and allow it to dry on nails of at least a minute before applying acrylic.

It sounds crazy but too much bonder can cause lifting!?!

Hope this helps, good luck x

Sorry but I disagree with the above. Depending on the product you are using you are in my opinion using the very wrong file!

You should never use anything harsher than a 240 grit file on the natural nail. If you have a retentive product then all that is needed is the shine removed from the natural nail. If you need more shredding than this then your product will be damaging to the natural nail.

What brand are you using and are your cuticle remover, bonder etc all part of that brand.

Are you ensuring all the cuticle remover is cleaned from the nail surface.

Im using OPI bond aid, OPI Avoplex exfoliating cuticle treatment, and .ibd natural nail primer.
and yes i make sure that all the cuticle is removed.

OR Could it be the monomer and/or powder im using?

Just out of interest why are you using some OPI products and some IBD products? This may be your problem.

Is the liquid and powder OPI or IBD.

You should always work in accordance with your manufacturers recommendations. By mixing brands as you are doing, if you had a client who had a severe reaction and they decided to sue you, then your insurance would be void as you are not working within manufacturers recommendations - worst case scenario!

Oh ok i really didnt think i had to use same brand for everything.
im gonna try using same brand products to see if that works out.

the powder and liquid are OPI

When you did your training, this should have been explained to you all about how your chemicals work together etc.

If you are having problems then it is best to go back to basics and keep everything constant as in the one brand. It could be that the IBD primer is causing a barrier between the nail and your product - maybe but not definately.

As you say try using the one system and see if it helps.

It would also help us to help you if you filled in your profile a bit more fully.

You said you went to nail school - where, when, how long was the course, what product did you learn with.
