I used to have horrible nails. Short!! Brittle!! I couldnt even wash my hair without getting a snag in them!! Over the past few yrs they have completely changed. They are long and strong. I love to wear polish but can not keep it on longer than a full day(whether I wear gloves or not). I could probably go longer but I hate when it starts to chip at the tip.

Is there any sort of "polish" that I can put over my nails that is not effected by acetone too much. I dont want anything that I have to actually file off though.

Any such thing out there in the magical nail world?

hey hun

can i ask which polish you're using and do you use the correct base and top coat to compliment this? If you do sorry for sounding like teaching grandma to suck eggs, but a lot of people dont, and it makes a huge difference, if you use something like CND's Stickey basecoat (i'm sure other brands do an equivalent, and then 2 thin coats of polish and then a coat of either Speedy or Super Shiney (again other brands will be diff) then you should get 3-5 minimum, I have few ladies that can get 5-7 days and they dont wear gloves at all.

Now I had the problem that mine wouldnt last more than 3 days, but thats due to my poor nail condition, but I bought CND's Heat Dry top coat and got 12 days from my nails nails once, and yes it removes with acetone (well i used my normal non aceton polish remover, took a bit more work but still came off) it goes on like top coat then you dry it for 3 minutes under normal desk lamp, again I'm sure other brands do something similar hun.

Oh just thought, are you prepping the nail plate before application, with a nail dehydrator, Scrubfresh or equivalent, otherwise if you dont do this, the varnish will deffo peel or chip without a doubt chick

hths xxxx

Thanks for the response!! Im using Creative Scrub Fresh, OPI polish, and Creative UV top coat. (I actually called Creative hotline and they said it wouldnt be a problem to mix another brand of polish with theirs). I just figured it was coming off so soon because I probably wash my hands atleast 25 times in a shift at work. And when I even wear gloves at work, the acetone polish still goes through the gloves a bit. So I figured it was due to both those things.
