Hi

I need your help (please)!!!

Has anyone got the name/details of the company who were at professional beauty North at GMEX - they were selling plastic training heads that you could practice facial massage, masks etc on??????? They had differnet attachments for mask application, make up etc.

I teach at a further education college and have just been allocated some money to spend, but cannot find the details of the company.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!:)

Hi there, just read your thread then opened up my copy of Guild News and there's an ad in the back showing a couple of mannequin heads! Not sure if it's the company you saw at GMEX but they are called Derma FX based in Woodford Green. They are a permanent cosmetics company. 0870 300 2078. No website on ad. Hope that's of some help to you x

I would have thought practicing on another person would be more worthwhile as they can tell you if the pressure is right and they wouldn't wobble around!! I can't imagine a plastic head would be very realistic especially as it has no muscles or skin!

I used to practice my facial massage sequence on my bent knee.

Thank you everyone! :)

I will have a look at the company that you have suggested.

I always teach massage on 'real people' normally, but i thought they would be a good idea  for when i have an odd number in the group or in preparation for the new hair and beauty diploma's in 2009!!! :)

Hi there

Just thought that i would let you know that in my post bag today at work i had a brochure from the company i have been searching for (how lucky is that!!!!!)

Hi maisemoo, when I was training to be a beauty therapist, my tutor taught us by using us as models. I found this method really useful because I experienced the treatment for myself and had an idea of what the clients will feel when they have their treatments. It also gave me an idea of how to do treatments in a professional manor, eg techniques used, pressure, sequence of treatment etc. Hope this helps :)

I could be your training head for you
