Hi All,

I was just wondering (as i'm new to this) who uses the pre-cut silk and those who shape their own silk and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using the pre-cut (besides the obvious of it already being cut).

Many thanks.

Well the obvious is the advantage of using it .. it saves time. More expensive but worth it in my humble opinion. Anything that makes life easier and faster for the nail tech without sacrificing quality is worth it.

Would you still have to cut it down though or do most of the sizes fit the majority of clients?

Hi Lou Lou, I use Silk and I dont use the pre-cut Silk, I prefer to use the normal Silk and you can cut what you need and don't have as much waste! Yes you still would have to cut the pre-cut Silk as everyones nail sizes/shapes different. The more you do it, it becomes easier and you will get to know how much to cut. Good luck x

with the precut it comes in fingers of different sizes so you pick the finger of silk that matches the closest to the finger you're doing - sometimes you'll need to trim it and you will have to cut down the length, but you can use those bits for stress strips.

I use precut cos i get less frustrated as i find it all very fiddly.
