Wow, what a lot of questions i have had already! It is great to have so many geeks wanting info on the photo comps. As promised here is some info about the photo comps for Professional Nails.
EARLS COURT LONDON - 10 - 11 SEPT - THEME - MUSICALS
RDS DUBLIN - 1 - 2 OCT - THEME - EMERAL ISLES
GMEX MANCHESTER - 15 - 16 OCT - THEME - EGYPTIAN
It is on the monday of each show, except Dublin is on the Sunday, and you just turn up in the morning at registration, drop of your pic and then wait for the awards at 4.00pm! (ish!!!)
The photos have to be of a high standard with the nails as the main focus but the background is important to. Ask someone to look at the pic and say what they are drawn to first, it must be the nails!
BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE THEME. (your step by step will help with this)
You must also submit only 1 photo per entry and not a book of 10 per entry. (yes, it has been done, and the judges blindly pick one and it may not be your best!)
NEW RULE - YOU CAN SUBMIT ANY NUMBER OF PHOTOS BUT EACH ONE WILL NEED TO BE REGISTERD AND PAID FOR.
Entry is £30 (£25 for ANT members) per photo. (£50 on the day)

Deadline is normally 1-2 weeks prior to each show.
You must also submit a written step by step, (put some effort in as its worth some points!) on how and why you did your pic. Use colour, samples, pics, etc and present it well, no scrap paper please!
For E. Court and Manchester, you can also drop your pic off on the sunday if you are not going on the monday and we will look after it for you. All photos will be kept by the organisers if not collected. They can be returned to you at the cost of the postage. Photos can also be sent in advance by registered post to Trades Exhibitions and we will take them for you. So you dont even need to be there, although it is rather nice if you win!
Please email Kat at trades a copy of your pic or leave it behind so it can be scaned for use in the mag.
NEW - ALL ANT MEMBERS GET A £5.00 DISCOUNT!
Photos can be supplied in a frame, although this makes them difficult to display. No points are given for frames. A card mount is better.
Photos can be black/white, sepia or colour, any size but 10 x 8 is minimum.
Make sure the photo is not to dark.

Musicals - I have just been on the london musicals website and copied the following ideas - Cats, Mamma Mia, Sinatra, We will rock you, Mary Poppins, Chitty chitty bang bang, Les Miserables, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Buddy, Grease, Pantom, Dirty dancing etc etc
Emerald Isles - from the tourist info site - 40 shades of Green, Leprechauns, shamrock, Toucan/Guinness, Waterford crystal, St Patrick, Blarney castle, Molly malone, last place of the Titanic, celtic, etc etc
Egyptian - Cleopatra (had lots of these!!) Pharaohs, Pyramids, Great Sphinx, Sahara desert, hieroglyphics, mythology, arabs, camels and Omar Sharif!!
