I just purchased 3 things of Pre-Designed french tips. I was very excited about them as were my clients. I have done 4 full sets and 3 of them have called back saying that the acrylic peeled away from just the tip itself. The instructions said not to etch them as this would file of the design. I don't understand why this happend. I've never had it happen before. I'm a little irked as I now have to redo all these nails. :irked: Does anyone have any idea as to why this happened?

Morning, it will be because you have not been able rough the surf of the nail, hence the product has no way of attaching to the tips they are very high shine, lightly rub over the tip, when I say lightly I mean very very lightly with a fine file or you will lose the design, HTH

i have used pre designed tips once or twice and you definately have to
slightly buff them. they are a bit of a nightmare cos if you buff them too
much the design does come off. goodluck.

Deffinatley lightly buff the tip before you apply the acrylic/gel.

When i first started using pr-designed i had the same problem (albeit very little) and was worried about buffing the design off.

Best way i found was to use a very well used white block buffer (you would laugh if you saw the one i use, its nearly bare!) that way its not so rough to scratch of the design but got just enough edge on it to take the shine off them.

Then go about applying your acrylic/gel HTH

i got some about 2 years ago...thought what a good idea they looked as i am pants at nail art but they where more trouble than they are worth. And lets not even start on infilling them...

Use a gold block OR a used/beat-up old white block buffer. Just sweep a few times just enough to say that you did, but not enough to remove the design (takes a bit of practice to get it just right).

BUT it can be done.

As for infilling them... when the design grows out so to speak, file down to the design and file it off, then refill over it.

Before I started trying my own hand at art, I used them all the time, no problem.

Hope this helps.
