Hi all - after having purchased what I thought was all the appropriate aveda products for my very curly, very fine nightmare hair and finding they didnt work I returned to the aveda staff for advice.

the recommendation is to go now invest more money in using a protein hair mask as a treatment to deal with the other aspect of my hair - colour.

I am more than willing to spend money on products but can i ask the professionals among the forum to give their view on can the hair be repaired by a protein mask?

Or is it possible for hair (which of course is dead keratinised cells at the point of application) to actually be able to absorb protein applied to the external cuticle? - should add here I'm currently a wee beauty student in the midst of anatomy & physiology so know a wee bit about skin/hair structure ( I stress "wee"!)

Any advice would be appreciated.cheers, jtp
