Hi All the waxing geeks out there

Wondering if I can pump you guys for some advice. I have waxed my legs bundles of times in the past. Geberally just do it myself with the home kits, and although it takes the hair off fine I always get the same problem.

I let the hair grow to almost an inch, and it took it all off no problem, but then within a couple of weeks or less I get regrowth (because I generally have very fast hair growth). I always assumed it was just the too short hairs coming through again and that's why I left it a good 7 weeks of growth or so to get everything through.

Anyway, I am covered in not quite ingrown hairs, but little itchy bumps, where the hair isn't growing inwards, it's just stuck under the skin.

I exfoliate most days anyway and everyday after waxing, but i'm still having issues

Is there anything else I can do to help it?

I ask as i'm going on holiday in July and want to get the issue sorted so I don't have the problem after my next was, which would be on holiday.

you will find the regrowth is a different hair cycle growing.....what you need to do is force your body into getting all the different growth cycles (that grow at different times naturally) to grow all at the same time, therefore this will allow you to go longer inbetween waxings. To do this, you need to wax every 4 weeks for 4 sessons......that should sort it.

As your going on holiday soon and dont really have time to do this......you may also find a 'growth inhibitor' cream may help you to slow down your hair growth.

as for the lumps, just make sure you exfoliate and moisturise the skin so that its easier for the hairs to get through, thats pretty much all i no of that you can do, but the other geeks may have other ideas. you can also buy a cream for ingrowing hairs but by the sounds of it they are not ingrowing hairs.

hope this helps hunni, and you have a great holiday

My advise would be to give up the home waxing and go to a professional.
Home kits tend to be inferior wax .Also you are probably pulling the hairs in the wrong direction causing ingrowns. You are probably breaking them off as well, rather than getting them out at follicle depth.

Thank you for your suggestions geeks, it possibly is just regrowth, I just thought seen as I had left them so many weeks and with an inch growth at least, they would have grown through.

It's odd as I don't get the problem at all when I shave, I just hate to shave because I have to do it every day or so or I get thick regrowth.

I will definitely try and find a decent professional and see if the different product and technique they use makes a difference.

Is there anything other than exfoliating a lot that I can do at home to help it?

Totally agree with what's been said so far. Just a suggestion but I find that you can exfoliate too much and cause ingrown hairs. Why not take the advice of getting waxed every four weeks and leave the exfoliating and see what happens. Not everyone needs to do it. I see loads of clients who exfoliate and get ingrowns and clients who never exfoliate and don't get one. xxx

Thanks for the advice. Will certainly give it a try.

You could also try a product like PFB Vanish which may help with ingrowing hairs.
