I have a friend who has has tried shaving, depilatory creams and waxing but no matter what she uses she always comes out with really sore rashes which are really sore, tender, red and inflamed (legs and bikini line). She's tried products for sensitive skin but doesn't make any difference.
She asked my advice and I recommended putting aloe vera on the inflamed areas or antispetic cream. The soreness/rash usually lasts for anything up to 3 weeks. She's always in pain but can't bear to be hairy!

Anyone know of any other good products which I can recommend to her that might be more helpful?

Thanks.

hi there that sounds painful! I'm not too sure about the waxing side of things but, Why don't you say to your friend to use an electric shaver or epilator. just a suggestion hope it helps.

Maybe she needs to try a non strip wax treatment with an experienced therapist who will apply oil to protect the skin. It will cost more but may cause less sensitivity.

Cooling the legs, applying an aftercare lotion- aloe vera afterwax would be good as you mention (she could even keep this in the fridge) and making sure to keep the skin clean and clear of any other product may help.

Maybe if she tells the doctor about this they may be able to prescribe an anti-histamine for her to take before hair removal.

If everything causes the same reaction there is not much she can do besides use the technique that causes the least reaction, or learn to love the hair.
