So I just came home from a client who called me about removing extensions. These extensions were not put in by me but I am quite experienced and know how to remove most glues but this what out of this world!
She had gone to a hair extension salon in London that I thought was quite a reputable one and their website is fab so really did not expect this. She had had them in for 3 months and basically there was no hair left just the glue.
The glue was extremely soft, like you could mould it almost like melted wax. Normally when I use my Balmain gun they just dissolve and slide ride out but this did not really dissolve it just kind of melted and went all over the hair. Her hair and my fingers were so sticky! I had never seen anything like it, it felt like gum!!! I basically could just not get the glue out and it just went all over the hair.
At this point I was getting really concerned, which I never do, as the glue was no longer in blobs, but it was all over the hair. Then she told me that her extensionist had taken one out at the salon and she just put leave in conditioner on it???? I mean, my bonds would never break down with just leave in conditioner. So she brought hers down and sure enough this worked much better than any of my removers and helped get it out (barely).
It took 2 hours and removal usually just takes me 1 hour. So I am wondering what kind of glue this is??? I mostly want to know because I would NEVER EVER want to touch that or put it in a persons hair it was just awful. All the hair had shed out and they were sooo soft. I had not seen anything like it ever and I have been doing this for a long time. They were an amber colour as well.
The girl said the extensionist used a glue gun and loose hair. I almost feel like telling her how bad of a job she did and that she cant use this glue but don't know if it is in my place to do so. However I would want to know! This is a salon specialising in extensions as well. They had not even given any aftercare or any instructions!!!!!
Sorry for long post but I really have no idea what this glue was and I really want to know.
