Hiya

My friend told me that when she does acrylic nails she puts resin and application spray over the top. Is this true you can do this? She said it makes them stronger and last longer?

I am assuming she is referring to resin adhesive and then using an accelerator spray to dry the adhesive. It some cases this will adhere to acrylic and sometimes it doesn't. As far as strength, I would have to say more than likely this doesn't add any more strength than just using the acrylic by itself. Especially if it is only layer. Resin adhesive can be strong but has to be built up in several layers.

What an odd thing to do! I can't see how this adds any strength. L&P should have no problem with strength and a layer of resin has no strength at all. Plus it would be very susceptible to polish remover.

A layer of UV gel is more common but that's just for the high shine that some people like

There is no logic in this practice
