Hello everyone. .

I am new to this site so i hope i am posting this in the right place  forgive me if i haven't as I am still trying to work everything out.

Anyways getting to the point.

I've been doing enhancements for a few months now and so far everyone that I have practiced on has requested square nails, so while i was practicing on my mum I thought I'd have a go at doing them a round or oval shape.
After i had done them i was really not happy with the outcome I don't really know how to explain it, they just looked awful to be honest, they looked wide and just unflattering.

I personally think round/oval shaped nails would really suit her so i don't think it has anything to do with that, i think it's just how i am doing it.

If you have any advice which may help me that would be lovely because I'm starting to get quite frustrated.

Thanks
Annabel

When you have adhered your tip and cut it to the length required, take some nail clippers to the sides of the tip and cut the corners off, then file into the shape that you want before applying your product,
when your product is applied you have very little filing to do as the shape has already been formed hth,
also if you go into the tutorial section on here (under navigation) you should find something that will help you

Ahh that sounds like a much easier way than how i was doing it, I will definitely be trying that out next time.

And I will check out the tutorial section

Thanks

Also in the book 'nailclass' by Gigi Rouse it tells to how to do all the different shapes of nails by explaining what angles your file needs to be held at.....i found it very useful as i didnt know how to get the shapes right either.

A good tip from louby lou though....definatly will be doing it that way from now on.....but like you say most of my clients also have square...more squoval really.

I will do some research on that book then because i definitely don't want the way i shape the nails to let me down.

Thanks for your help

Here is the link to mundo where you can purchase nailclass. It is a great book and everything is very clearly explained.
