Just to let you know that we've extended the registration deadline for this year's Scottish Nail Technician of the Year competition to Monday 11th April.
The event takes place on Sunday 17th April as part of the annual Scottish Beauty exhibition at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, and this year there' are 12 categories for you enter!
The timetable is as follows:
8.30AM Registration
Top Tech Tip & Overlay
Top Tech Newcomers
Top Tech French Twist
Salon Nail Challenge
12.30pm Registration
Top Tech Sculpt
Salon Nail Art Challenge
Top Tech Like4Like
Student Nail Challenge
The new categories for this year include Top Tech Like4Like, where you have 2½ hours to produce one hand of nails in a French finish as follows:
· Pinkie Tip & Overlay Acrylic
· Ring finger 2 colour Acrylic Sculpt
· Middle finger - Tip & Overlay Gel
· Index finger - 2 colour Gel Sculpt
· Thumb 2 colour Acrylic or Gel
Also new for 2011 is the Top Tech French Twist - competitors can only use the products on the table provided by the competition organisers from a range of suppliers. All competitors will have exactly the same products on each table, with a range of shades of pinks, whites and clear.
Don't forget also that our Student Nail Challenge is a great way for colleges to battle it out against each other! Judges will be looking for the student who can produce the best set of nails to NVQ Level 2 standard demonstrating natural tip blending, choosing to work in one colour on two hands and then one hand painted with red polish.
Places in each category are limited so it's really important that you register in advance of the competition as we can't guarantee that places will be available on the day. Plus you save £5 on your registration fee.
