Hi everyone... a few days ago i developed a really itchy lower lip on the left side... the skin has very small pimples which are not red but are itchy and my lip area has cracked...

i have no idea what it is, it is definatly not a cold sore and it covers an area of approx 1 inch by 1inch...

i have used E45 which burnt like hell and i had to wash it off!
lip balm soothes the symptoms for about 10mins but isnt ideal and isnt clearing it up...
i have also used sudofed which stops the itching but isnt curing it
and even put on hydrocortisone on it this morning... (i know i shouldnt apply to the face but a few times wont hurt too much)

i went to the pharmacist who was soooo rude! and just told me to see the GP - which of course will take a week to get an appointment!

it isnt noticable at all... apart from lips looking dry but it is so itchy!
i have thrown out all makeup brushes and am cleaning my hands all the time and not touching my face but dont think it is bacterial...

what could it be????

Leanne.

As we're not doctors it's going to be diffcult (not to mention unethical) to diagnose what this might be.
Have you tried Solar Balm on it?

Havent tried it, i will try that tomorrow... thanks lynne...

i will have to go to GP but by the time i go to the doctors it will be worse ! takes ages to get an appointment! argh!

Sound very much like the condition my sis had, Trip to the doctor i'm afraid x

I see by your profile you are looking into becoming a nail tech.have you been having a dabble with nail products at all some of which can do this.Primer, uncured gel?

Gillian,,, i have actually! i couldnt think of anything i had touched recently that was out of the ordinary... but no you mention it i had a dabble with some gel and had a little go at my own nails... it probably started around that time!
i removed the ones i did on my own nails the same day as i had bio sculpture booked for the next day.

i think i will hold off on booking a course untill i know what product has caused it! last thing i want to do is to qualify in something im allergic to.
i will take some antihistamines and see if it clears up.

if not then i will have to go to the doc! groan! :(

thanks!

sounds very painfull and could be a contageous skin infection so no kissing for you. go to doc asap.
