Hi

What are your thoughts and experiences with both?

My tent wont go down and at the right side it doesn't lie flat on the floor so this stopping me offering mobile tans

The cup seal is leaking, tried to get in touch with the company but no reply

Done my 2nd tan today and the hose attatchment kept popping out  not at the main fixing which does detach itself but from the bit that comes out, if that makes sense. If anyone has a name for it or could explain it easier I'd love to hear form you. I'm going to try phoning htem tomorrow but don't think my description is the best!!!!

The tan did turn out great and thankfully it was a friend of mine, but it doesn't look professional when the tan leaks from the gun then the hose keeps popping out. to make matters worse i laid my gun down and forgot it leaked so when i tried to attach the hose back in i was left with a puddle on the floor that i had to clean up in front of her

hi hun

sorry to hear your having so many problems with your new equipment, I also have the shadz machine and tent and have to say I have had no problems so far.

you need to push the hose on to the gun firmly then the other end that locks into the main machine needs to be pushed in then turned (hope you understand me) otherwise it will pop back out,

as for the leaking cup you may need another one it must be faulty, but first ensure the cup is screwed in firmly and never lay it on the floor as im sure with all machines if you lay it down it will leak,

My tent is also fine it does slightly lift on one side but when the client is standing in it its fine, are you used to putting down the tents?? if not you may just need to practice it took me ages to get it right if you are used to it and you know what your doing then maybe this is faulty also.

I contacted shadz recently regarding how many tans I could do in one night using this machine and he emailed me back within a day or two so maybe just keep trying.

hi

thanks for getting back to me

that was one question i said tonight to my boyfriend. i was also wondering how many tans the gun could cope with because i really want to do parties. did you get an answer?

it was the other end of the hose, not the one that goes into the gun nor the bit that attaches. they were both fine. it was the actual hose part that comes out of the end attached to the machine. its hard to explain. it just pinged out and that attached bit was still on the machine but the hose was out.

yeah, my tent its both right sides are in the air. even when someone is in it. i've had my laundry bag in it to try flatten it but that hasn't worked

i've been trying for months to get it down. i've watched every video on youtube and paused it and done it step by step and had no luck.

I wonder if you have just had a faulty kit? sounds like it, where did you buy it from??

Yes he did contact me back his reply was spray away it will be fine, a bit vague I know lol but i have sprayed 6 in a go before now and it was fine hun.

I do think you should contact them again and explain your probs, did it come with guarente?

let me know what they say hun

oh also the bloke from shadez has a profile on here so you could even try sending him a pm think is profile name is 'shadez'

Hi hun, someone on here had a faulty gun and the company replaced it without any problems at all.
The hose and connector should not come apart at all on any of the machines, so as said it sounds like you have been sold a kit that is faulty. I hope you bought it from the company, because returning it should be straight forward.
The same goes for the tent. Perhaps what you got was a kit that had been returned and was wrongly sent to you?
Keep trying to contact them, when they have been on here they have taken customer service very seriously and have responded well.

Just give them a call first thing and im sure the problem will be dealt with professionally .

Tents are a nightmare to get the knack of folding back down..once mastered its as easy as pie...maybe you could ask them for some tricks and tips.

By the way what training have you had as these sorts of issues would been covered??

Good luck

hi

it was with fake bake. the training was brilliant but it was in september and i bought the kit then.

i had a baby at the same time and was in the middle of selling my flat, moving from down south up north, got a tip of a house i had to gut and decorate from top to bottom and was working to set up my business all at the same time so my memory/head wasn't the best at that time and thats probably why i didn't shop around and look into my kit or check it over properly when i got it

i bougth the gun through shadez but it was their ebay shop

I wouldn't get to down with the machine problems your experiancing as Shadez have always dealt with these sorts of problems in the past...

So give them another call...get the problem sorted out and get out there and start earning some money from your investment way back:hug:

oh dear think I spoke too soon, Just finished doing a tan tonight I had the machine on low setting plus II used the heat and near the end of tanning it cut out, is this right?? do they all do this??? it was very hot

hope someone can help
thanks

Hi Ambermay

thats what i was testing out when the hose popped out. i done 1 minute on normal then done the next minute with the heat on. my 3rd tan girl said it made no difference with the heat on so i just set it back to normal and thats when the hose kept popping out the fixed attachment.

i only had the gun on for no longer than 4 or 5 minutes. the bit of the hose felt really hot like it had melted. i placed it back in the part that attaches to the machine and managed to finished the tan, even though it popped out a few times.

i'm now scared to look at the hose properly to investigate incase it pops out again and i cant use the gun

my gun didn't cut out

Hello there,
Can't advise on the gun but my tent sometimes goes all wonky and tries to fall over. All you need to do is: lol now comes the hairy bit.
If you look at the edges of the tent where the metal rod is enclosed you will see that the metal is a flat strip, with all the folding and unfolding it turns inside out. Get someone to help you hold it still on one end and grab the metal and turn it right way around. In other words the underside should be on top. It is a bit fiddly but mine needs doing at leasst every other week or it tries to fall over when the client steps too near the edge.

Good luck, hope it makes sense, ring me if you need more clarification

Hi

Is anyone having any luck getting in touch with shadez or getting a reply? I've had a few people PM me that are having similar problems

I've called a few times and emailed pictures of my tent and how its 2 foot of the ground at one side and the back right is folding half way into the tent.

Tanned a girl today, thats the first time since the hose started popping out. and yet again the hose popped out half way through. So I had to get masking tape half way through the tan and tape the hose into the attachment.

Don't know what to do now

Use clear silicone or super glue and re-attach it, I have seen lots of people with the same problem from the same batch of machines. The problem is easily fixed with a £1 in B&Q.

Never have had any problems getting hold of Shadez and I have had nothing but excellent customer service from them with every purchase.

All machines get hot, leave your heat function for drying the client as it makes little difference with the tan solution warming up. The machine can cut out after a certain period of time but you can switch it straight back on after it cuts out to finish a tan.

I use the machine and can so far do up to 25-30 tans with it in 4 hours non-stop. I just turn it off between clients to cool a little, although on shows you rarely get time to breathe let alone switch the machine on as its one in one out!

Kind Regards

Kate

Why not pm her on here? She's commented on your thread and left her number so she obviously wants to help....
Here I go again sticking my neck out but I'm going to do it anyway.
In your shoes I would still pursue getting the machine and tent repaired/ replaced but I would also look at upgrading, I am no expert in this field but I am dam good at doing research and I've done this extensively. And my own personal opinion is that if you are doing a couple of tans here and there then this is a serviceable type of machine, however if you are putting it to more vigorous use then it would probably be better to keep this as your back up machine and buy something more suited to a heavy duty work load. I am in no way trying to 'do down' this type of machine but.......
I wouldn't make a wedding cake with a hand blender, I'd use a kenwood chef.

The problem is easily fixed with a £1 in B&Q.

Yey...and you all mock...B&Q to the rescue again :lol:

But with a £1 spend that's not going to get me very far

Interestingly though it does seem that B&Q is popping up on all sorts of threads these days..coming to the aid of a desperate peep more or less every day now ...wonder who the little blighter was that started it all :smack:

Seriously ...keep trying to contact the supplier ...don't give up till your problem is sorted...which im sure it will be

and where would you get that from....B&Q I wager

Hi

Thanks for all your advice.

Kate, thats good to know that the machine does all those tans. Do you have an email address that i could email pictures of my tent and see what you think?

I would like to get a new gun but due to finances it isn't possible at the moment. I did think about signing up to fake bake at home just so i could get the new gun and tent, but i'd really need to see how many tans i get in a month when i start advertising and if it would be worth it.

The thing that is putting me off advertising is i'm not 100% confident in the equipment. I'm happy doing the tan now and have had good results when I done a few practice tans and now i'm charging.

The masking tape has done the job for now but its just annoying that its a new machine and the hose popped out on my 2nd tan. It could be a faulty kit like you say
