Hi peeps, i no that everyone on this site loves sienna so i thought i'd try thier solution as well.

I've been doing spraytans for about a year now and have been using the same solution, but because everyone's been raving about sienna i thought i'd give it a try. Well i've had my sample sent through and i sprayed my mate & she sprayed me (she's been doing sparaytans for about 5yrs now), but we've both found that it looks good for the first couple of days but after that it goes really patchy, has anybody else experienced this or is it just me?

I really wanted to love the solution because the company's service is fantastic, they were v.helpful, but it just looked awfully patchy. Could i be doing something wrong? Please let me no what u guys think.

Thanks. x

Sienna will only go patchy if you spray too much on, don't moisturise or use the wrong colour for your skin xxx

Well to be honest i had the same problem. Got a sample and had myself sprayed. First couple of days fine, then patchy and i mean real patchy. My hands still look like they've got age spots all over them.
They were extremely helpful with fab customer service, good product range, good priced solution. Was really impressed by their intro pack but unfortunately i went really patchy :irked:
I tried them because it was recommended on here, i also tried Tantrick which is also recommended with fab customer support and their solution wasn't for me either.
I think you have to find one that suits you and your customers.
If there was one brand that was absolutely the best then everyone would be using it. We are all different, we all have different preferences so you just have to try as many as you can. :)
By the way my nail tech liked Sienna x-perhaps it's my skin but never had that before with other solutions, perhaps it just doesn't like my skin :irked:

Hi angelina, can i ask which solution you are using at the minute? thanks.x

I currently use Fake Bake and Celebrity Secrets. Actually the lady who supplied my Celebrity Secrets branched out on her own and re-branded. Actually the solution is now called nuovatan but is exactly the same as celebrity secrets and i must get used to calling it by the name i have on the bottles :irked:

Silly question but did you do proper prep and moisturise regularly afterwards? What % did you use and what skin type are you?

I've never had a problem with patchy skin with Sienna..

Not everyone loves Sienna, just those who publicly post their love for it. Most peeps are polite enough to just not respond, even if they don't like Sienna or any other brand they've tried xx

I found sienna patchy and very drying to the skin even with moisturising every day

I have to say that when i try a new solution i never prep and never moisturise.
I know a lot of clients don't follow the aftercare advice we give them and i like to see how a solution will fare when it isn't looked after properly.
I have tried lots of solutions that have still been good without any prepping and moisturising. Obviously they are going to be better if we follow the advice.
When i find a solution that fares well with no care, i then do all the proper things to see how much better it is.
I like to think that my clients are still happy with their tans when they haven't bothered looking after it.
I advise them how to look after their tans but i can only advise and can't make them do it.

I was shocked last week when one of my very regular clients "confessed" that she NEVER exfoliates, despite my constant advice, either before her appointments (every 10 days or so) or after the prescribed few days into the tan.

I've always been aware of her dry areas so usually put a good splodge of oil-free moisturiser (you know, feet, knees, elbows) and she has regular pedicures. She likes her tans darker (loves the booster drops) and has never complained of patchines.

I was gobsmacked (doesn't take much with me). Bizarrely, I also felt a bit let down, like she hasn't been playing by the rules of the game ha ha ha.

The long and the short of it was that she's happy with her spray tans and doesn't see why she should "go to all that unecessary effort". I'm tanning her again on Friday - might even drop in a hint on how it'd be interesting to see how much MORE fabulous her tans might be and how much LONGER they may last if only she did put in that LITTLE bit of effort.

I've even given her exfoliator samples in the past - what a waste!
