Hiya.

Just a quick problem that I'm hoping people can help me out with.
Whenever I wax legs (usually with coarse hairs), I never get a smooth result. It's as though 95% of the hairs just break/snap off. Even when I go over the area again, its still not completely smooth.

The wax is the right temperature, not too sticky or anything either.

I've heard that applying the wax with more pressure and rubbing the strip firmly on the skin will help, but is there anything else I can try?

Please help
Thank you :)

Sounds like you might not be stretching the skin enough and applying enough pressure to make sure the the hair is fully wrapped in the wax. If the wax doesnt get through the hair to the skin you are going to pull the hair too far from the follicle so its bound to break off.

Try applying the pressure and when you apply the wax strip simply smooth with your flat hand with pressure over it (you only need to rub over it once) and then you should be absolutely fine

You might want to review the products you are using. Certainly the waxes I was offered in training were far poorer than the lovely ones I use now.

You might want to ask about a stepping technique where you push against the grain, but certainly proper skin stretch, wax on pressure and pull against growth are critical.

Practice makes perfect! You'll be fine :)

Hi. You could also try using a dusting of talc before using cool wax, this will help lift the hairs. I have found that strong hair needs a good wax - try salon system pink cream wax or satin smooth cream wax. The cheaper ones just don't cut it. You could also try using muslin strips instead of paper ones and make sure you pull the strip off back on itself rather than lifting upwards. Hope this helps.:D
