I had a look at the Young Nails tutorials and found their glitter fade snake skin stilettos. I would love to have a go at these but only do gel. Does anyone have any idea how to recreate this type of design with gels?

I've just had a look at the video, love the finished nail :D I think you'd be fine, up until the use of the netting... that's where I see a potential problem, how will you get the netting to leave an imprint in gel?

Hope someone has an idea of how to achieve that look with gel, it would be interesting to see the end result :)

Would flash curing set the gel enough to hold a shape pressed into it but still soft enough to actually let you do it?

Just did a very crude try and applied the gel, flash cured then tried to push the netting into it. No luck. But if you put on a the netting apply gel over it (not too thick though) then cure it you can pull the netting out after curing. It leaves an impression. I then brushed over it with soak off gel (all I have at home) and dabbed the surface gently with cleaner on a piece of kitchen towel. It leaves a snake skin impression. Now that could be just beginners luck so I will have to get my stuff from work and have a proper play tonight. (Off to watch the third of the Twilights with my daughter :o)
