Never had the problem before as Im a Gel person.
Had a client, wanted acrylic soaked off and replace with Gel instead.

My question.........
Will the acetone affect my application of my gel?
After soak off does the acetone remain at all to cause lifting?

I don't have problems normally but after the soak off the client has had lifting and separation of product at the free edge. I know they may be catching the free edge.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't have thought so, I have a client who changed from l&p to gel no problem as l& p didn't suit her at all. She had no lifting issues with her gel after the soak off.

Hiya,

I only work with Gels also, I dont see acetone causing any problems, it dries the nail out, they will be free from all natural oil etc. Iv had clients who have had enamel off before an application which was remove with either an acetone or non acetone based remover and iv not had any problems, just make sure to oil well after to rehydrate the cuticles.

Thanks for that.
Im trying to think why they could have lifted.
If the clients natural nails are really weak and thin would that cause them to lift?

Well the client did have really ugly thick acrylic applied before I soaked them off.
So perhaps she has got used to them being thicker and stronger? :irked:
